Hurricane Vortex Scrubber
The Hurricane Vortex Scrubber was developed
to eliminate the need for chevrons, packings and mist eliminators used in
traditional scrubber columns, which created increased maintenance and pressure
drop difficulties.
The Hurricane Scrubber utilizes the centripetal vortes principle. Vortex action provides substantially improved contact between the liquid and scrubbing media and gas compared to a concurrent device such as a venturi. In actual side-by-side comparison tests with a venturi, the Hurricane has consistently demonstrated greater efficiency of particulate removal at given pressure drop levels. The cyclonic interaction of the liquid and gas exists throughout the entire scrubber. The flushing action generated, keeps the internals clean by preventing build-up. The Hurricane Scrubber has demonstrated superior efficiency and mass transfer characteristics for sub micron aerosols and particulate and performs extremely well with any sticky materials, which tend to plug conventional scrubbers. |
