The dual phase extraction process involves the subsurface removal of air, water, and product. There are many other pieces of equipment needed for a fully operational system that addresses all phases of contamination. Each Dual Phase Extraction System is manufactured to meet your specific requirements. The determining factor behind the selection is the expected operating vacuum level. Rotary Dry Claw and Liquid ring pumps are most suitable for vacuum levels in excess of 15 inches mercury (Hg). Positive displacement blowers are more suitable for vacuum levels up to 15 inches Hg. The graph below shows the vacuum ranges of each blower type.

Liquid Ring Pump

| |
Liquid Ring Pump Systems
-
Provide high vacuum and high flow with range of different Horse Power
-
Oil sealed design eliminates problems with water usage, water quality, and maintenance encountered with water sealed units
-
Should be coupled with nlet particulate filter-Integral seal oil reservoir with low oil level switch, coalescing air-oil separator element, pressure gauge, and sight glass
-
Air cooled seal oil heat exchanger with temperature control valve
-
High temperature switch
-
Vacuum relief valve
-
Instrumentation - vacuum / pressure / temperature gauges
Rotary Claw Blower
|
Rotary Claw Blower Systems
- Can operate in full range of vacuum with minimal maintenance issues
- Blower should be coupled with an auto oiler to prevent lobes from seizing during long term shut down.
- Vapor liquid separtor and cavity transfer pump with on / off level switches installed inside external stilling well should be used to prevent moisture carry over and transfer collected liquids to discharge point.
Provides high vacuum with lower air flow than an LRP
Phase Separator
Phase Separator Systems:
-
Provides collection point for fluids extracted during dual phase process
-
VLS is sized based on air flow rates and retention time
-
VLS should include,Positive Inlet filter
-
Ambient air dilution valve with inlet filter silencer
-
Discharge Pump and controls
-
Instrumentation - vacuum / pressure / temperature gauges
-
Sample ports
