Dual Phase Extraction Systems


 
Dual Phase Extraction Systems are available in two different configurations. Each Dual Phase Extraction System is manufactured to meet your specific requirements. The determining factor behind the selection is the expected operating vacuum level. Liquid ring pumps (oil sealed design) are most suitable for vacuum levels in excess of 15 inches mercury (Hg). Positive displacement blowers are more suitable for vacuum levels up to 15 inches Hg. The graph below shows the vacuum ranges of each blower type.


The dual phase extraction process involves the subsurface removal of air, water, and product. There are many other pieces of equipment needed for a fully operational system that addresses all phases of contamination. The primarily additional pieces of equipment needed are briefly described below.

  • Oil sealed design eliminates problems with water usage, water quality, and maintenance encountered with water sealed units
  • Inlet particulate filter-Integral seal oil reservoir with low oil level switch, coalescing air-oil separator element, pressure gauge, and sight glass
  • Air cooled seal oil heat exchanger with temperature control valve
  • High temperature switch
  • Vacuum relief valve
  • Instrumentation - vacuum / pressure / temperature gauges
  • Skid mounted, assembled, painted, and fully tested


Displacement Blower Component


Positive Displacement Blower System

  • Provides air / liquid separation prior to blower
  • Receiver tank with high-high level switch, vacuum gauge, manual drain valve, sight glass, and clean-out port
  • Fine air-water separator (T-type or coalescing element)
  • Progressing cavity transfer pump with on / off level switches installed inside external stilling well
  • Skid mounted, assembled, painted and fully tested

Phase Separator Component:
  • Positive Inlet filter
  • Ambient air dilution valve with inlet filter silencer
  • Discharge silencer
  • Instrumentation - vacuum / pressure / temperature gauges

  • Provides automatic operation with fail-safe interlocks
